So far 8th year has not been as difficult as most people have said. I thought that it would be much harder. I find most of my classes dull, now.

Eriq, I would like to visit you. I miss you and I find it upsetting that I haven't seen you.

I am not enjoying school very much right now.

I'm incredibly bored and I miss Eriq.

People assume that Africa is hotter than other places, but it has not been that much warmer than France. Ten or twenty degrees at the most. But I'm not in the desert, either.

I've never had a problem that a good amount of research couldn't fix before. Unfortunately, no book contains the subject matter I need now.

I require help on the subject of human mating. Specifically, how one should signal that they are available or interested in such activities.

[Hexed to friends but not Eriq (Ed, Simon, Sébaste, Jesper... anyone else who feels like it)]

I require advice of a friendly nature.

I believe that I'm angry with Eriq.

I need to talk to you.

I only just realized something.

Although I am looking forward to having more time this summer, and plan to fill it with reading and with my part-time job doing wandmaking and the few trips that I hope to take during my time off, I feel rather anxious when I think of this year ending.

Next year I'll be an eighth year. And Eriq will not be here any more.

This summer, I think that I will do an expedition to the Quang Ngai province in Vietnam. There have been reports of creatures attacking animals and citizens there. They seem to resemble the chupacabra in appearance, but not in behavior. The telltale signs of a chupacabra attack - the complete draining of blood from livestock - are missing.

The unidentified Quang Ngai creatures have been reported to roar loudly during the night, and have been heard since the beginning of May. They have also killed over twenty dogs and bitten at least fifteen Muggles. The creatures are said to be dog-like in appearance, with slanting red eyes and black and white spots on their fur. No known creature in the area fits that description.

This is incredibly fascinating and may, in fact, be a new, previously unknown cryptid. I wish to investigate this creature thoroughly. It may be dangerous, but it will be well worth the risk to discover a new species.

I can't wait to investigate.

According to statistical data, the average Benoit student will be 14.5 years old when he loses his virginity. It will most likely occur at school, with the partner being an older male student that he is not in a long term relationship with.

I think that I've had a breakthrough in my chupacabra research. I came across a paper about a legendary Mayan creature called the Huay Chivo. According to Mayan legend, the Huay Chivo was a sorcerer who could change himself into a beast. Some local folklore says that this Huay Chivo is the one responsible for the attacks on livestock like goats. So, if Huay Chivo is really the chupacabra, then it might be that an animagus is to blame.

Fascinating. It's amazing, sometimes, how you can miss something that's been right in front of you.

This is my favorite ghost story because it always makes me laugh. It's from Japanese legend.

Long ago, a Samurai was walking at night down the road to Kyōto, when he heard someone calling out for him to wait.

"Who's there?!" he asked nervously, only to turn around and find a man stripping off his clothes and pointing his bare buttocks at the flabbergasted traveler.

A huge glittering eye then opened up where the strange man's anus should have been.

Today I sent away my paper on the chupacabra to Cryptozoology Quarterly. I hope to hear back from them soon. I've decided that over the summer, I should get a part time job to fill up some of my spare time and to get me away from my parents. Wand making sounds very interesting, so I hope that I am able to get that position.

It occurred to me today that there's a fairly significant number of cryptids whose modi operandi are engaging in various sexual acts (whether consentually or forcibly) with humans. The obvious ones are the incubus and succubus, but there is also the popobawa of Tanzania, the kappa in Japan, and the Hantu Tetek of Malaysia.

It seems strange to me. I'm sure that I could find many more if I researched it.

May. 11th, 2011

I have enjoyed having time off from classes. I read several books during that time and worked at length on my scholarly paper on the chupacabra. I believe that I'm ready to submit it to Cryptozoology Quarterly.

I am very excited. It will be my first published paper, if they choose to print it. And they should because it's written better than 63% of the papers in their last edition.

Questions such as "who has the best ass" are incredibly subjective and therefore, basically useless for formal inquiry. They are opinion-based and best left to soft sciences like sociology or anthropology to study. So they do not interest me.

I have been interested lately in thinking about the possible existence of alien life in outer space. I think that it is incredibly likely that such life exists. Following the Drake equation, current estimates place between 2-3 civilizations capable of communication in our galaxy at any given time. This means that it is very likely that there is at least one other form of life in our galaxy that has evolved into beings who are intelligent enough to create a civilization.

Since odds are very much against discovering any such life during my lifetime, though, I think I should continue to focus on unknown creatures and cryptids that roam my own planet and leave such whimsical thoughts to people who are content to live with their heads in the clouds.

Apr. 19th, 2011

I can't fathom why anyone would care about sexual comments that anonymous strangers would like to make to them when, every day, there are dozens of reported sightings of creatures like sasquatch, the chupacabra, and the Owlman of Mawnan.

That is far more interesting in my opinion.

Dec. 15th, 2010

I said it last year and I'll say it again - the Advent Calendar is a complete waste of time, especially during exams. At least we have a choice whether to participate and it isn't like April Fools' Day, when I was stuck with a tail all day long.

I don't know why everyone says that it is cold.

It only seems cold now because it has been summer. After winter, in the spring when we have these temperatures, we will think that it is warm.
